No, nothing THAT new to share

We had 5cm of snow last night.
Sam had the best time. He was toasty warm and got to see everything.
This is one of the ice skating rinks Bill used to play ice hockey on as a kid.

Sunday and Monday

We visited Uncle Monek and Auntie Cilla.  We were able to video chat with all three boys and their wives/girlfriend.  We even got to chat with Ashira in Israel.
We went up to Alex's horses and watched them exercise in an arena.
Today we went to Mont Trembant to SKI!!!  It was great.  A little icy but for my first time back since my broken leg, it was great.

Montreal

This morning we went for a walk on a sheet of ice.  It is freezing rain today so no skiing.  We will probably goto see a movie.

Sam has boots but will not walk in them.  He only walks for about 10 steps and then needs a brake for his feet to warm up.

Two posts today

What do you do in Hilton Head on Christmas Eve day?

We are leaving for Montreal in the morning. I should still be able to post on the road.
We  hope everyone has a Happy Chanukah and Merry Christmas.

Progress

Whoever built  the house, did not support it correctly. most of the floors are sagging. They are cutting the foundation and pouring new footers. They will jack the floors back up and put in steel beams.

^ See the rot in the middle of the picture on the back wall ^

Amazing to see it this way. Sad

Sunday night

We actually sang songs that were written by the guests.  They were known songs with new made up words.  This year's song was not all fun and games though.  It started with "Hello Bernie, Hello Fannie"  (instead of "Hello Mother, Hello Father")

Stay tuned. . .. tonight (Monday) we had Our Chanukah party.  It was a GREAT success.  Pictures to come tomorrow.

I did some baking for Holiday gifts.
Chocolate cheese cakes, Red Velvet cookies and Fudge.
We sat by the water and read. It was 78 Degrees, tomorrow is suppose to be 80!!

This was our morning walk.  You can hardly see Sam in his bag on Bill's shoulder. Next time I'll take the shot away from the sun.  Sorry
I just love all the dogs.  It makes it fun.

Week three

Week Three

The wall to the left will be taken out and be the kitchen

This "room" was the dining room but it will now be a big round staircase.

We went to Atlanta on Monday to get some more things from the house.
Mainly ski stuff and SCUBA stuff.
Tuesday night we ate ate our FAVORITE restaurant, KYMA.
Every time we go it is wonderful.

Santa in the Sand

Here are the "main" dogs we know on the beach.
Mcgraw and Colombo belong to Julie and Clay.
Mcgraw is a  medium blonde curly dog with a big name I cannot remember, Colombo is the basset hound.

Notice Sam is to Santa's left in the grey bag

End of week two

Big holes were dug for the footers and then they poured the concrete.

A crew started inside tearing out all the carpets and I am looking forward to seeing much more inside progress next week.
They started building the new foundation walls.  We will keep the old ones but more are needed.
This is in the front.  I am not very good at visualizing how this fits into the plans, but seeing a shape is exciting.

Happy Birthday and Anniversary

We had a quite day together and then went to one of our favorite restaurants. www.antonios.net

Then we went to the art center to see South Pacific.  The Art Center here is top notch and Broadway quality.  We really love it.

MOLD

Deep breathe

Fixing the nails that are coming up.
We are glad we decided to redo the house for this reason. Rot and mold.
Yesterday some people came and took every last door and stitch of cabinets to be sent over seas to Jamaica to build an orphanage. Look at the walls behind the cabinets.  It is unbelievable.

Saturday

We walked over to the house this afternoon and looked at the work they have done.  I was surprised to see this.  I guess it is our front steps, or at least the footings for it.

We decided to take a walk on the beach instead of a bike ride since it is so dark and gloomy.
I know I can only take so many pictures of dolphins but I want to share with you the experience of having a pod of dolphin take a walk with you.  It is amazing every time.

Sam is not behaving any better with his new collar.  It worked for a while but now he is pushing the limits again.  He has been play "mauled" by two dogs already by his own fault. He was not hurt but he is a drama queen and doesn't seem to learn.  I think we have to go back to the leash.
