Sorry for the delay

I have not been feeling all that well so I took sometime off from blogging.

Wednesday we went to Charleston to check out schools.

Bill and I are both thinking about going back.  Charleston is a bit of a drive and did not have what we wanted but the ride was nice and we want to go back to do some exploring in the future. As you can see, we never forget the dog.  Sam is with us all the time now and he makes quite a fuss if he thinks we might be going somewhere without him.

  

And you can see the progress on the house.  Lots of digging and hauling. It is nice to see people actually working everyday.  I hope it continues.

DAY ONE

December 1,2008

Happy Birthday Eli!!

OK Everyone,

We have started our adventure.

First Habitat came and picked up the toilets and hot water heaters. 

Then the big machines came. . . .

The back deck and front of the house had a bad day.

Tomorrow we should get a big dumpster. . stay tuned. . .

Thanksgiving Day

Many people were visiting here in Hilton Head for Thanksgiving.

We found that out when we went for a bike ride and the beach was very full of families playing touch football.

The weather was perfect
We had an impromptu snack outside our rental

Bill and I were invited to a very nice dinner for people in the area.

This is one of the plates of appetizers that I made to bring.

As you can see, it was a great turn out and we met a lot of new people

We have given into peer pressure and will "try" the game.
This is our golf teacher Kurt. Today we learned how to hold the club and swing.
We are still not sure if this is for us yet

Morning walk

Today I finished my invitations for the annual hanuakkah party.

They turned out almost as well as last year and much better in person

This year will be much smaller than last year but it is a start and I am excited to cultivate new friends.

Dinner Guests

Last night we had dinner guests.

The reason we live in Hilton Head is because this couple invited us to their house for New Years Eve last year.

We came and fell for the island immediately.

Absolutely!!

Sam is friendly to everyone now. . .as long as they are sitting on the couch.

Renovation is starting Monday

It looks like we might start our next project Monday!!

This project we will have help with.

For those of you who don't know, we have had quite a time since we bought a house on Hilton Head Island.  Our house is beautiful but looks can be deceiving. I will further explain in the future blogs but the short of it, the house had been attacked by the 10 plagues, or close to it.

We are doing an EXTENSIVE renovation.  We actually had to move out last week and since then ceiling in the garage has fallen in.  We rent the house "kitty corner" it our house.  This picture is taken from our garage and you can see the rental house as Bill heads toward it


This picture is from the street.  My car is parked at the rental, our house is to the left of the driveway.  It is actually in the same driveway.  We will have a great view of the activity.
